I started playing in this hobby when I was a kid. When I moved up north, since there where no pet shops I gave it a break for a few years but now that I am back, so is my hobby. I'm planning on upgrading to a much bigger setup in the future with natural plants.

Perfection isn't reached when there's nothing left to add, but when there's nothing left to take away.
About Yourself:
It's an addiction.
Fish Kept:
Freshwater:
Neon tetras, pristella tetras, penguin tetras, pygmy corydoras, a betta.
Saltwater:
Black clown goby, three-stripe damsel, banded coral shrimp, sexy shrimp, camel shrimp, nassarius snails, margarita snails, nerite snails, emerald crab, scarlet hermit crabs, blue-leg hermit crabs
Corals/Plants:
Plants:
Dwarf Sagittaria subulata, Amazon sword, java fern, java moss
Corals:
None yet. Can't keep much in the actinic tank, and the camel shrimp eats anything I put in the 3 gallon nano. Will probably relocate the camel shrimp eventually.

Advice:
Research. Exhaustively. If you don't like to research, don't get a fish tank. There's a lot of misrepresented and untrue information out there about fish, even ones as common as goldfish and bettas.

Fish Kept:
There are two larger Red Turquoise Discus and one new baby Brilliant Turquoise Discus. One Ornate Cory Cat and one Skunk Cory Cat (bottom feeders-great vacuum for discus!). Two Orange Bee Shrimp.
Corals/Plants:
There are many assortments of plants that I've tried to include in this tank. Amazon swords, Hornwort, Telanthera Rosefolia, Ludwigia Peruensis, and Wendtii Bronze are just a few. There are many more to come!
Tank Size:
45 gallons
Advice:
86ºF seems to work great with plants and Discus. Water changes should be done regularly. More often if you don't have sufficient filteration. Discus require a very clean environment. 10k Metal Halide lighting seems to work great for plants.
