Advice: Patience and research. Don't think that jamming a new aquarium full of fish will work, and always do the proper research for the requirements of the fish you intend to purchase and choose compatible tankmates accordingly. Never put a fish into an aquarium that is too small for the adult version of the fish.

Quote: When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
About Yourself: I am in college and wanted a pet i could care for mostly on the weekends and was relatively inexpensive, i have always liked watching fish and want to put together a decent mbuna tank.
Fish Kept: I am experimenting around right now and am just trying to find what will and won't work with my given setup. Anything that bullies the tank too much will be traded in. That being said heres what I am keeping: Pseudotropheus Saulosi - 2M, 4F Melanochromis Auratus - 1M Pseudotropheus Socolofi - 2M Tropheops sp "yellow chin" - 1F Cynotilapia afra - 1M, 1F Synodontis nigriventris (Upside Down Catfish) - 6 Assorted Busy Nose Pleco - 2
Corals/Plants: None.
Tank Size: 75 gallons
Advice: Don't try to mess with your PH if you are just entering the hobby, stick with fish that do well on your tap (get a PH measuring kit if you are unsure) . Over filtration is always better than under filtration, and lots of water changes make happy fish (just make sure to neutralize Chloramines).
