Know what you want, and Go For IT!
About Yourself:
My husband is the one that always wanted an aquarium, so I grudgingly agreed that we buy a small one...on the condition that he's in charge of it! After a couple of months I was just crazy about our fish, and we upgraded to this 55 gallon mixed mbuna tank. Now I just love researching, aquascaping and keeping busy with my cichlids!

Red, Albino and Cobalt Blue Zebras
Johannis, Kenyi, Rusty, Auratus
Kongi, Acei...
Corals/Plants:

"I believe you have my stapeler" Milton Office Space
About Yourself:
A little less than a year ago I decided to buy a 10 gallon tank for my wife because she used to have african dwarf frogs and liked them. So I decided to get her a tank for them and add some fish. One thing led to another and one tank led to another and now I have eight tanks providing me with over 300 gallons of freshwater fun. By the way i want to add that this tank is a combined effort of my wife and I. We do this together and we really enjoy it. I recommend it to any married couple as a means of bringing you closer together. Now if we could just find more room in our house for another tank. Just kidding..... Or am I?
Fish Kept:
The 65 gallon tank holds Labidochromis caeruleus, Labidochromis sp. "mbamba", Melanochromis auratus, Pseudotropheus Kenyi(aka Metriaclima lombardoi), Pseudotropheus "acei", Metriclima astherae, Pseudotropheus saulosi, and Pseudotropheus socolofi albino
Corals/Plants:
none
Tank Size:
65 gallons
Advice:
Never believe the workers in your local pet stores or fish dealers! Use trusted literature and reliable internet sites to research and conclude your own information. Always research your fish and prepare your aquarium well in advance before purchasing fish. Also make sure you always have a plan "B" when mixing tropical fish in case it doesnt work out.

Always been interested in fish Find them very relaxing and therapeutic. Grew up in the ocean diving and surfing. Never got around to setting up a tank. Now I am 32 and it is time. Probably inspired by a mate of mines set up around 400Gallon Malawi Cichlid tank. Keen to hear anyones thoughts on my set up, LIKES DISLIKES SUGGESTIONS ect
Fish Kept:
Malawi Cichlids Mbunas 17 In total mixed
Corals/Plants:
A few plastic plants
Tank Size:
50 gallons
Advice:
New at this (First Tank) so STILL LEARNING - READ READ READ!!! ALSO Use sites such as this for info and tips on set ups ect VERY HELPFUL
Decide on the type of fish you want first then plan from there. Be patient with your set up. FILTRATION IS KEY and KNOW THE NITROGEN CYLCE Clean Decor and substrate thoroughly Choose the correct Fish not just anything in stock at the moment. It may be tedious to start BUT it will pay off long term (I hope)
