Fish Kept:
African, and South American Cichlids. For EXAMPLE,
Frontosa, Pearlmutts, Blue, Yellow, and Albino Sococlofi's, Salvini...........many, many more.
Corals/Plants:
Real plants have been impossible for me to keep with these Cichlids, so I've reverted back to using plastic ones. They can't pull the plastic ones up the way I've anchored them into the big rocks. I'll show them, Haha!!
Tank Size:
150 gallons
Advice:
Keep it simple. Invest some time into knowing your fish and their natural enviroment. The more comfortable your fish are the better they will look and behave. Cichlids are easy to keep if you pay a little attention to what your doing.

Advice:
Where to start.
#1 - I can't stress how important this is! RESEARCH your fish before you buy them! Don't go to the store, and say, oooh, that's pretty! and throw it in your tank without knowing what it eats, what type of water conditions it needs, how big it gets, how aggressive it is, what it can be kept with, etc!
#2 - kind of like #1 - Make sure your fish aren't too big for your tank. And I don't mean when you buy them at the store, all of 1" big; I mean a year from then when they're over a foot. For example: that pretty little oscar in the store is a baby, you cannot keep it in anything less than a 55gal tank, by itself, when it gets bigger.

About Yourself:
As a military family we moved a lot and I promised we would get a tank when we finally stopped. We're about three weeks in and it's been a lot of fun so far.
Fish Kept:
Gourami, Neon, Black Neon, Black Skirt, Emperor, Glowlight, and Pristella Tetras, Rainbow Shark, Giant Danios, and Guppies as well as Ghost and Algae Eating Shrimp.
Corals/Plants:
All fake so far, trying to keep it relatively simple initially.
Tank Size:
55 gallons
Advice:
Talk to experienced hobbyists and your local pet store fish experts and read/research books and on-line. This website and Drs. Foster and Smith came recommended to us and are very helpful.
