About Yourself:
A friend with "fissues" turned me on to the hobby when he gave me a 20 gal tank. Bastard! The bug bit me and I know own 3 tanks and have plans to start up a reef tank in the near future. I've been in the hobby for a little more than a year now and I continue to learn new things daily. I love to tinker so I end up building a lot of stuff myself and I find the internet and this site an invaluable resource. I would love to hear other peoples input and ideas.
Fish Kept:
3x jewels,2x convicts,2x firemouths,3x parrots,3x phantoms,1 blue zebra,1 blue acara,
Second tank has approx. 20 Convicts at various stages of growth, 2 Dempseys, 2 Severums, 1 Krib, 1Ram, 2 Clown loaches, 2 plecs.
Corals/Plants:
mostly live plants.
Tank Size:
90 gallons
Advice:
bigger is better, maintenance is key, don't eat yellow snow. I change 25% min. of water every 10-14 days, Clean filter media between water changes and don't mess with the biological media at all. About every 4 months I take everything out of the tank and thoroughly clean the tank, rocks, filters etc. Buy the good stuff as far as equipment, food and media are concerned. I didn't and I have paid the price. I am still trying to convince my wife to let me buy canister filters.
Description:
My 90 Gallon. Lots of rock caves and a few live plants.

About Yourself:
My dad always had tanks when I was a kid. My dad had this tank, glass tops and stand just sitting in his barn rotting away. I expressed interest in starting a 10 gallon and he gave us this one instead! And now, I have a bad fish habit. lmao
Fish Kept:
6 Harlequin Rasboras, 1 Zebra Danio, 4 Tiger Barbs, 1 Green Tiger Barb, 4 Bolivian Rams, 2 Koi Angels, 2 Siamese Algae Eaters, 1 Rope Fish, 1 Common Pleco, 1 Clown Pleco, 1 Albino Cory Cat, 3 Pepper Cory Cats, 2 Panda Cory Cats, 3 Porthole Catfish and 2 Japanese Trapdoor Snails.
Corals/Plants:
2 Amazon Swords, 1 Java Fern, 2 unknown plants grown from bulbs. The rest are artificial.
Tank Size:
65 gallons
Advice:
Be sure to cycle your tank prior to adding a lot of fish and add slowly when you do add fish. Research, research research....plenty of places to do this on the web. I also have a cycled 10 gallon quarentine/hospital/nursery tank which has come in VERY handy more than a few times. And above all...HAVE FUN AND ENJOY!
Description:
This is my current setup...hubby wants it to stay this way, but I'm wanting to add more caves for my catfish, and soon an Electric Blue Lobster, to explore!

About Yourself:
My name is brandon b.k.a Ez. I am a bartender/bouncer in down town savannah. Ive always been a huge fish geek. I enjoy sport fishing and of course building aquariums. Ive been building tanks since I was around 8 years old. I currently own a 75 gallon cichlid tank and I also own a 180 gallon tank which is (at the moment) a reef tank but I am in the process of converting it to freshwater. I am going fresh with it to feed my new infatuation with predator / monster fish.

About Yourself:
I've never had a fish tank until just recently. Life got a little rough and I started looking for some type of hobby to get my mind off of things. I started with a little 10 gallon tank (it's a "Rocky" themed tank which I'm proud of). I found how relaxing it was to just sit and watch my angel fish at night. I was hooked, maybe I'm going overboard now. All is well, I'm having fun. I bought a second tank, brackish setup, for a Green Spotted puffer that I saved from Walmart. His name is Michelangelo (from the Ninja Turtles!) Then I got pretty serious and purchased my 75 gallon. I've put so much time and work into it but I love it. I've got it lined up to pick up a 92 gallon corner tank next week. I plan to set it up as a saltwater tank, my main fish will be a dogface puffer, I totally love' em! Anyway, I'd appreciate any advice or input from anyone. Don't be too hard on me, I'm just learning. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you guys.
Fish Kept:
Electric Catfish, Delhezi Bichir, Senegal Bichir, Striped Rapheal cat, Featherfin cat, Tiger Oscar, Albino Tiger Oscar
Corals/Plants:
I have a few live plants that don't seem like they are doing too well. I think I may need better lighting.
Tank Size:
75 gallons
Advice:
I AM a "New Hobbyist"!!! And totally loving it!
Description:
Here's my 75 gallon freshwater. Don't be too hard on me, I'm new to the hobby. I just added a new fish today, an Electric Catfish! I'm so excited. I also really love my Delhezi Bichir. Other fish also in the tank: Senegal bichir and striped raphael and featherfin cats. I have a couple live plants. I have a few ideas for my tank and will be changing things up soon. I just love this stuff!
Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks.

About Yourself:
I am currently a part time student working towards a Bachelors of Science in Interactive Media Design. I like to express my creativity mostly through aquascaping, web design, and some photography. I grew up with little oddball tanks; mostly goldfish and guppy tanks, so aquaria has always been an interest of mine, but I have only recently become a fanatic of the hobby. I love designing different aquarium habitats and researching new species of fish.
Fish Kept:
1 Metriaclima callainos, 2 Metriaclima lombardoi, 2 Metriaclima estherae (1 Red, 1 Albino)
Tank Size:
55 gallons
Advice:
My only advice for new hobbists would be to do a lot of research before setting up a new tank instead of just making impulse buys. Really read up on different types of fish, equipment, etc. It will really benefit you in the long run.

Description:
We moved into a new house and there was an odd wall in the livingroom. I decided that I would build floor to ceiling oak book shelves down that wall so of course a big box of water in the center only made sense.
I had no fish tanks so I had to build or buy everything I needed and it was up and running in a month.
It is in the wall behind my couch and is now a healthy Tanganyikan community tank.

About Yourself:
When I was little my dad had a big 225 gallon tank with an Oak stand that he built for it, and he had all sorts of awesome fish that sparked my interest so since the age of five I've had a tank and I'm 22 now so for how young I am I have some experience.
Fish Kept:
I have all different types of cichlids even though it's not suggested, but have yet to have a problem with it. I also have different bottom feeders and plecos throughout.
Corals/Plants:
Like stated before all rocks are from my grandparents I believe found throughout Utah. the wood is from Wyoming and all plants are plastic so the cichlids and plecos can't destroy them.
Tank Size:
55 gallons
Advice:
Start small then grow your tank along with your knowledge
