I have set a lamp beside my tank and didn't put my filter in as the current was too strong and my poor wee fish couldn't swim properly :(

About Yourself:
I bought a filter for it but it created too strong a current and my poor wee fish couldn't swim properly so I took it out and decided to do water changes everyday, is this ok? I want all the advice I can get!
