Photo Caption: This is my first attempt at a planted tank, it is; Tank: 70lt Lights: 2 x 20W T4's and 2 x 20W T'8's (lights are cooled by a 12V computer extractor fan in hood) Plants: Background = Echinodorus tenellus Foreground = Hemianthus callitrichoides Filtration: Old school fluval 3 external. Ferts and Co2; Co2 is injected at 1-2 bubbles per second from a fire extinguisher setup with DIY and Tropica nutrition plant food used daily. Substrate is also from Tropica with a fine layer of gravel to prevent soil disturbance. Fish and Inverts: 4 x otto's, 5 x Amano Shrimp and 4 x Sunkist shrimp.

Country: Ireland
Description: Mbuna setup in a juwel rio 180. Standard juwel filter with an external Tetratec Ex700 (turns the water over 7.4 times an hour). Over 100 pounds of old red sandstone with crushed coral as a substrate.
Advice: My advice for new hobbyists would be to read as much as you can before you buy.
Fish Kept: Many and varied!
Corals/Plants: Trying for a goldfish with plants tank at the moment, but he is a hungry fellow and its costing me a fortune.
Tank Size: 50 gallons

hi great looking tank, did you find the hemianthus easy to grow , i am trying but it just keeps dying i have just set up co2 system and trying fert pellets pushed into gravel to see what happens. carl fish avatar
