About Yourself: Got in to fishkeeping from a very young age; ended up having 20+ tanks in a small council flat! Growing up, jobs, relationships then meant it took a backseat. Restarted in my late 40's with community tank, then Malawi tank. My son has this one now and he is starting a Sumatra tank.My tank that I have submitted, was bought off an auction site. I built the stand myself as well as the sump, which was converted from an old acrylic shop display. it contains amongst other things, 15kgs of alfagrog. My biggest challenge in fishkeeping is resisting the urge to fiddle! Always tweaking this and adjusting that.

Fish Kept: 4-pigeon bloods, 3-brilliant turqs, 1-solid turq, 7-Marbled Hatchets, 10-Cardinal Tetra, 25-Rummy Nose Tetras, 12-Panda Cory, 13-Otolinclus, 1-Green Phantom Pleco

Corals/Plants: Valis, Cryptocoryne, Anubias, Amazon Sword, Bacopa

Tank Size: 143 gallons

Advice: Do your homework and sign up to as many forums as you can.

About Yourself: Started out in 2007, only ever kept freshwater due to money and time restrictions.

Fish Kept: Current stocking of 4 foot: 2 angelfish 2 german blue rams 5 xray tetras 3 kuhli loaches 1 black kuhli loach 3.5 gallon: 3 guppies. Fry are given to the angelfish

Corals/Plants: Amazon swords, val, java fern, pygmi chain sword, micro sword, anubias nana, various crypts

Tank Size: 55 gallons

Advice: Fish are often tougher than people make them out to be

Advice: Dont jump in at the deep end, it makes one hell of a mess. Make a plan and stick to it.

About Yourself: Had a 10 gal as a kid. Recently decided to try it again -- loved the idea of small natural looking aquascape. Here's my attempt. Spent more money than I originally would have liked, but very pleased w/ the set up (all things considered) and love to sit and watch.

Fish Kept: 7 Harl Rasboras; 8 cardinal tetras; 2 pearl gouramis; 1 blue gourami; 1 gold gourami; 4 oto cats; 1 siamese algae eater; 3 balloon rams.

Corals/Plants: Anubias barterivar. nana ; java fern and moss; narrow leaf micro sword; rotala indica; jungle val. No C02 yet -- dose Excel (among others)

Tank Size: 40 gallons

Advice: Research like crazy (books and online); the more you know, the easier it is (and it can be easy!).

About Yourself: Fish keeper 30 years. I've used all sorts of aquarium tools and nothing beats trial and error as well as a trip to the local Aquarium. They beat the heck out of the local pet store...

Fish Kept: Yellow Tang, Sailfin, Neon Demsel, Pair of Clarkii Clowns, 4 Striped Demsels, Yellow Watchman Goby, Green Serpant Star, Various Mushrooms and Halimeda and Mangrove plants, Turbo Snails. Red legged hermits coming soon.

Corals/Plants: Reef - 1 Fox Coral umbrella mushrooms and one giant purple mushroom, elephant ear mushrooms and several feather dusters lots of striped mushrooms as well as hairy mushrooms, cabbage leather, Kenya Tree and riccordia.

Tank Size: 125 gallons

Advice: Watch your tank and learn to notice changes. Money does not buy happiness and Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS)
