Quote: DO your best Regardless of how you feel.
About Yourself: I raised and kept African CIchids for 7-9 years then moved and just recently got back into it. Due to living conditions I can't have big tanks anymore so I'm tryin to make do with what I can do.
Fish Kept: African Cichlids, Yellow Labids, Albino Zebra, Eletric Blue Johanni, An Afra, Brichardi, Kenyi, Auratus, and Synodontis lace catfish.
Corals/Plants: Fake Silk leaf types.
Tank Size: 29 gallons
Advice: For those wanting to get into the hobby, start as big as you can afford, its actually easier. Research AND do what needs to be done to ensure healthy fish keeping. Don't try shortcuts unless you have money to burn or waste also. Don't fight mother nature...fish are found all over the world and have different paramters for that reason...you can't put just any and every fish togethor with success. Don't rush. Nature is slow and so should be the development of your tank into something sustainable and beautiful.

Fish Kept: 12 Assorted African Mbuna and Peacock Cichlids including: Mbunas- Blue Johanni, Yellow Aurotis, Electric Yellow, Red Stripe Devil (He's orange..), and a Cobalt Blue. Peacocks- Two Hybrid "Obi" Peacocks in Calico Orange/Black/Purple/White coloring, Crown Royal (Don't know the exact name but his coloring is exactly like a Crown Royal whiskey bag), another Hybrid "Obi" in Deep Red and Blue coloring, one White/Pink tinged Peacock(Also don't know the actual name, will find out.), One White Flametail Mbuna, (Bright White with orange/yellow fins), and one Bumblebee Mbuna. Also, one 6" Pleco to clean their poop :D
Corals/Plants: I don't use corals or plants. Instead, I use assorted lace rocks I bought from my local fish store. These rocks are very 'hole'-ey and provide great shapes to create rock formations for the Cichlids. This is highly recommended for African Cichlids as they prefer rocky, natural environments. Also, my aquascaping material is natural white sand, also good for a Cichlid Environment.
Tank Size: 37 gallons
Advice: Be patient! Fish aquariums cannot be rushed if you want them to turn out beautiful. Contact a local fish store for all of the advice you can ask for! (Not Petco or Petsmart or anything like that, STRICTLY FISH stores will have much more knowledge at their disposal.)
