life is life, take it, make the most of what you have, don't ponder about what you don't have!
About Yourself:
I am a 24 yr old female, with 2 kids, ages 2 and 6, I work as a cook full time. i have always loved fish, and now i have gotten in the habbit of catching baby fish and raising them in the tanks i have and then releasing them back where i got them when they are big enough. I do this so they do not get eaten by other fish and they have a chance of living.
Fish Kept:
2 angels (1 male, 1 Female) 8 dwarf Guarmis, 2 bullhead catfish ( i caught them when they were babys) 2 royal green terrors, 1 gold ram, 4 blue rams, 1 clown loach, 1 pleco.
Corals/Plants:
non living plants and decorations
Tank Size:
60 gallons
Advice:
I change the water/clean it 3 times a year, and test the water once every 3 weeks, either myself or take it to get tested, I have NEVER had any problems with the tank or the fish. I feed them once a day, thir diet consists of live food, and flake food. When i say live food, I mean they get blood worms, baby guppies, ( I have a feeder guppy tank and when they reproduce i put the new babys in the big tank) and live brine.

The first step to getting the things you want out of life is this: Decide what you want.
Fish Kept:
I'm barely starting out so as of now, I have 4 fish only. I plan on getting a few more malawi cichlids, and 2x gold nugget plecos. I just want to keep this tank simple. As much as I would like to overcrowd to reduce aggression, I'm afraid this plan will have to wait. First it's a fairly small tank, secondly I'm not very confident with the filtration just yet. I plan on upgrading to a Rena XP2, but I'm afraid that I might have too much water flow if I do upgrade. Just have to do a bit more research on that.
Corals/Plants:
None except for 1 plastic plant right in the middle.
Tank Size:
30 gallons
Advice:
The only advice I can really offer is to be patient. A rushed tank will lead to frustrations. I found this out the hard way.

About Yourself:
I got into the hobby when my girlfriend's mother got her tank and fish. I fell in love and was just mesmerized by the fish swimming around. I started off with a 10 gallon tank then moved up to a 25 gallon and finally up to my 50 gallon tank. I am very pleased with my tank and wouldn't go any bigger due to space and the cost of maintaining a tank that would be bigger.
Fish Kept:
2 - yellow tail acei
4 - blood parrots
3 - electric yellows
1 - bala shark
1 - electric blue lobster
Corals/Plants:
n/a
Tank Size:
50 gallons
Advice:
Research only goes so far. Each fish has its own personality. I have kept all my fish together since they were young and nothing has happened so far. So keep reading those books and websites and remember that patience is the key to having a beautiful tank.
