About Yourself:
2 of us have this tank. Me: Mikey, I am a culinary chef graduate. I have always had crazy amounts of animals. It started out with buying a betta then another for a friend. Then that graduated up to 6 bettas. From there we got a 10 gallon tank from a friend with a filter and turned it into a brackish tank and got some Cory Catfish and Cichlids and BAM!!!! Graduated up to 55 gal! LOL...Sad but True....HAHAHAHAHA. My right hand man Desmond, I met in culinary school. He took the sensible route and bought a couple in depths books and read them cover to cover and worked at Petco. He IS the walking Fish Encyclopedia. Try him. We dare ya.

Advice:
Don't believe that American and South American Cichlids can't go together. That's a crock. We raised ours together and they do well....
Also, Keep a variety like our fish with our Tinfoil Barbs. They help keep down the tempermant of the tank.
Ummm......Make sure you always treat your water for water changes. (I know. Like, Duh!)

i got into the hobby when i was younger, but i joined the Army and sold my 80 gal tank..After my tour to iraq i needed something to calm me and keep my active from my ptsd so now i have a 29gal, and a 5.5 gal in service now...i have a 10 gal, 5.5 gal and a 55 gal in storage...

I had always wanted to have a saltwater tank and I am very lucky that my close friend has been in the industry for about 10 years so I had alot of help getting things set up as well as countless guidence along the way. READ...lack of commitment is no excuse for failure, YOU ARE your tanks inhabitants only means survival. The decision to start a tank of ANY kind should be carefully thought out AND THEN executed like a military endeavor. The hobby is something of great wonder and supreme pleasure for me. Started with a 10 gallon fresh water tank when I was 10 years old. Did that for 2 years. Didn't get back into the hobby until 18 years later. I had one 55 gallon fresh water and another 55 gallon saltwater FOWLR. Finally upgraded to a 180 gallon tank and gave away the other tanks to my relatives.
